Robert P. Webber

Robert P. (“Bob”) Webber is the Principal Attorney at Webber Law Firm, LLC.  He limits his practice to employment-based and family-based immigration law matters.  Bob graduated from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL) with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and earned his law degree at William Mitchell College of Law (St. Paul, MN).  Bob is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Minnesota and because immigration law is federal law, he is permitted to represent clients throughout the United States and worldwide on U.S. immigration law matters.

Bob attended William Mitchell College of Law at night through a four-year program.  While in law school, he participated in an immigration law clinic and worked as a law clerk/legal assistant at Ingber & Aronson (year 2), a summer associate/law clerk at Doherty Rumble & Butler (year 3), a summer associate at Gray Plant Mooty (summer 3), and a law clerk at Honeywell International (year 4).  At Honeywell, Bob did legal research on employment law and business ethics issues.

After graduating from law school, Bob was an associate attorney at Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly for a year (1999-2000), then an associate attorney at Myers Thompson for four years (2000-2004).  Thus, prior to starting Webber Law Firm in 2004, Bob worked for and studied under many of the best immigration lawyers in the state of Minnesota, including Jerry Ingber, Bob Aronson, Paula Duthoy, Scott Wright, Peter Yost, Ed Hayward, Sam Myers, and Elizabeth Thompson.

AILA Member LogoIn 2003, Bob was named one of the “Top 10 Up & Coming Attorneys” by Minnesota Lawyer.  He has received “Rising Star” and “SuperLawyer” designations, and Martindale-Hubbell has given Bob an “AV” rating based on peer reviews by other attorneys who have rated his work as “very high to preeminent” and ethical standards as “very high.”

Throughout his career, Bob has been an active member in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).  He has served as a Secretary and Treasurer of the Minnesota/Dakotas chapter of AILA.  In 1999, Bob led efforts to increase funding at the Minnesota state job service to facilitate faster processing of labor certification applications.  These efforts led to the passage of a state law related to labor certification funding.  Bob has spoken at local conferences of AILA as well as the AILA annual conference.  Bob has written articles on various immigration law topics that have appeared in AILA national publications, including a recurring article on Best Practices for Practitioners.

Bob is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), and has served as Chair of the MSBA New Lawyers Section, where he held a seat on the MSBA Executive Committee, which runs the association.  Bob has also been a past member of the Board of Directors of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights (MAHR).
